Christmas Songs and Carol Singing

During December 2020 I hosted 8 Christmas Songs and Carol Singing sessions in various suburban locations around Chester. This was a real joy for the singers who participated, having been in lockdown for November, and brought a lot of warmth and delight to the local residents who saw and heard us.

In December 2021 we will do a pared down programme of just 2 sessions, as I'm aware people have a lot of other activities to attend in the run up to Christmas this year. These will be;

Thursday 2 Dec 7-8pm at Kingswood Residential Home, Kingsway

Wednesday 15 Dec 2-3pm at Callin Court, Grey Friars

I am leaving this page permanently visible as some people said they might like to drop in and remind themselves of the songs occassionally throughout the year.

I have made a couple of changes to the Christmas 2020 list of 20 songs. We will choose a selection of these for each session. These are a mix of traditional Carols, more modern Christmas songs and a few appropriate Hallelujahs and Glorias. They were mostly sung in unison, apart 3 songs (see below). This is the full list;

A Starry Night

Away In A Manger

Carribean Hallelujah

Calypso Carol

Gloria, Gloria (Taize)

God Rest You Merry Gentlemen

Good King Wenceslas

Hark The Herald

In The Bleak Midwinter

Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle Bells

Jubilate Deo

O Little Town Of Bethlehem

Once In Royal David's City

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

Sans Day Carol

Silent Night

We Wish You A Merry Christmas

Winter Wonderland

White Christmas

These three songs will be sung in 3 part harmony. I have put the sound files on Sound Cloud. Click the button here to hear them.
